An Appraisal of Fresh Liverpool Gigs

The city of Liverpool has an excellent entertainment scene that would surprise any visitor there. The music scene is really vibrant with so many talented local bands competing for gigs and fans. Famous national and global artists also continually grace Liverpool gigs to thrill the local eager fans. The theatre scene is also quite vibrant and the city has quite a large group that loves the opera. Still, these are eclipsed by onstage music concerts which draw big crowds and get sold out even before the day of the event. The music fans of Liverpool are a demanding lot, but they can always show their appreciation for a great performance.

One of Liverpool’s famous music groups is China Crisis that comprises of the multi skilled Gary Daily and guitar maestro Eddie Lundon. They have been in the music business for Twenty-five years but are still able to thrill the fans whenever they take to the stage. They lately staged a gig dubbed ‘That was ThenThis is Now’ at The Cavern Club in Liverpool. This was the last gig of a UK tour that they were doing this year. They were accompanied by a solid four piece band comprising Colin Hinds ( guitar ), Glyn Williams ( keyboards ), Eddie Robinson ( bass ) and Chris Phillips ( drums ). The performance was surely one of the best Liverpool gigs in the recent past, with the all-standing, sold-out audience excited from start to the end.

Richard Marx isn’t any doubt one of America’s top contemporary rock artists. He has got a multitude of fans in Britain though he does not tour there fairly often. So when it was published that he would hold a gig at the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool, there wasn’t any doubt this was meant to be one of the greatest Liverpool gigs of the year. All tickets were sold out before the material day. And Richard didn’t disappoint. The onlookers reaction as he belted out hit after hit would leave any musician envious at such a reception.

Young artist Kate Nash hadn’t performed in Liverpool for a while, but there was still a big audience waiting to cheer her when she performed at the Stanley Theatre at the University of Liverpool this April. The excitement was characteristic of all high profile Liverpool gigs and Kate didn’t displease. Dressed in an incredible black outfit, she proceeded to give an outstanding performance juiced with just the right amount of social commentary to leave the fans content.
